The first NPIP (National Poultry Improvement Plan) test done this year is all good!

At my request, testing was done for:

Mycoplasma Synoviae

Mycoplasma Gallisepticum

These last three are the normal tests done by NPIP

AI - Avian Influenza

P/T - Pullorum/Thyphoid

This is King David - #1 Cockerel in the coop

I have had several people ask me for current pictures of the Barnevelder's eggs.  I collected these eggs on 3-28-2011 and took the pictures on 3-31-2011 and am posting them to show the color.  I took the picture with the eggs on a white Corian plate in the hope that the color comes across correctly.  The eggs weigh over 2.5 oz. and they have come from my 8 pullets that have been laying since December 16th of last year - 3.5 months.

They thought I was bringing treats and all it was, was a camera.

These are the 27 chicks that I just hatched and they are going to be the chicks that I will be choosing next year’s breeders from.  These little ones are very hardy and doing well out in the quarantine coop in their own brooder.  I will still use their parent’s eggs until they slow down too much to be dependable layers.
